The UEFA Women’s Euros have started with a bang and with England’s first game on the horizon, let’s take a look at the 23-player squad who will be competing in Switzerland.
Goalkeepers
Khiara Keating
This is Keating’s first major tournament; she plays her football for Manchester City and is their number one choice of keeper. She has won the Women’s Super League Golden Glove and became the youngest goalkeeper to do so.
Anna Moorehouse
Moorehouse only earned her first Lionesses call up last year despite never playing at England at any level. Moorehouse has had experience within English football, but where she really shone is playing in America with the Orlando Pride. During the 2024 season, she created a new record with the most clean sheets in a season. and helped the team win the NWSL shield.
Hannah Hampton
With 16 caps to her name, Hampton has been chosen as England’s number one for this tournament. With Mary Earps retiring from international football, the timing could not have been better for her as she becomes a new household name. She recently won the WSL title with Chelsea, kept a clean sheet throughout the season and made her England debut back in 2022.

Grace Clinton
Clinton is one of England’s most exciting new talents as she makes her tournament debut. She currently plays her football at Manchester United and helped the Red Devils reach the FA Cup final.
Jess Park
Park is another young player and the best stat so far – it took her just one minute into her international debut to score. Since then, Park has been a regular star within this England squad and has made over 60 appearances for her club, which is Manchester City.
Georgia Stanway
Stanway plays her football in Germany at Bayern Munich. She is known for her attacking style and played a key role at the World Cup, and took on more of a leadership role.

Despite being considered one of England’s most senior players, it took Walsh till her 83rd cap to get her first goal. She is considered one of the greatest midfielders of this England generation and was named player of the match in the Euros final. She won back-to-back titles with Barcelona before returning to England and signing for Chelsea in January.
Ella Toone
Ella Toone made a huge impact off the bench during the last Euros where she scored the first goal against Germany in the final. She helped England during their semi-final in the World Cup and she plays for her childhood club at Manchester United, where she is also vice-captain.
Forwards
Michelle Agyemang
It took Agyemang only 41 seconds after making her England debut to score for the Lionesses. She currently plays for Arsenal but has been on loan for the past two seasons and could play a vital role at these Euros.
Aggie Beever-Jones
Beever Jones is another one gearing up for her major tournament debut. Last season, she finished as the club’s top scorer with nine goals. She is currently only the second woman to score a hat-trick at Wembley.
Lauren Hemp
Hemp made her England debut back in 2019. She started every game during the Euros in 2022. She had knee surgery and missed over five months during the season. She made her return to England in May and has looked strong ever since.

It was a doubt whether Lauren James would be able to play in these championships after struggling with an injury for the majority of the season. James has the unique ability of being able to glide past any opponents and proves a danger to any opposition.
Chloe Kelly
Kelly’s extra-time winner and even better celebration are something that England fans will remember forever. She has since made a massive contribution to the Lionesses by scoring two winning penalties.
Beth Mead
Mead had a record-breaking Euro 22, she won the Golden Boot, was named player of the tournament and provided the most assists. She’s also won the BBC Sport Personality of the Year.
Alessia Russo
Russo’s back heel during Euro 22 will go down in Lionesses history. She has since become the starting number nine and has provided key contributions. She plays her club football at Arsenal.

Lucy Bronze
Bronze is undoubtedly England’s most decorated player at club level and is also England’s most capped player with 134 caps. She has won the UEFA Women’s Champions League an impressive five times and nine league titles in three different countries. Most recently, Bronze made the swap from sunny Barcelona to the streets of London and signed for Chelsea.
Jess Carter
Carter’s England career really took off after the 2023 Women’s World Cup, where she made her debut in but then had to wait another four years until she got called up again. Since then, she’s been a vital part of this squad, often filling in at left back and centre back positions.
Niamh Charles
Charles has 23 caps for the Lionesses, with most of them coming within the last two years. She currently plays club football for Chelsea. Her first major tournament was during the World Cup.
Alex Greenwood
Along with Bronze, Greenwood is one of the most experienced defenders in this current squad. She played a vital part in the 2022 Euros, which England ended up winning. Heading into this tournament, it was touch and go whether Greenwood would be featured after having to undergo knee surgery in December.

Le Tissier has made club history. At just 22, she was named Manchester United captain, making her the youngest captain in the club’s history. She was also the youngest player to reach 100 WSL appearances at the same age. She has only eight appearances for the Lionesses, and is hoping that this tournament is where she can really make her mark.
Esme Morgan
Morgan is a strong full-back, where she likes to get forward and use that quick pace that has earned her a place within this squad. She has spent most of her playing career at Manchester City, but most recently has moved across the pond to the Washington Spirit in the NWSL.
Lotte Wubben-Moy
Wubben-Moy is one of the kindest people you will ever meet, a recent winner of the Champions League with Arsenal. Despite being unused in 2022, she made a huge impact off the pitch with her integral doodle diary and creating an open discussion with the government to ensure that young girls in school can play football.
Leah Williamson
Williamson will once again be wearing the captain’s armband at another major tournament, she captained England to victory in 2022 but missed the World Cup due to an ACL injury. She was a key player for Arsenal during the 24/25 season and has spent her entire career at the Gunners, the team she has supported all her life.
